Shoaib, Sania leave for India

LAHORE: Cricketer Shoaib Malik said he will decide about permanent residence after consultations with Sania Mirza as Sania’s father and other family members termed their stay in Pakistan as memorable.

Talking to media before leaving to India, Shoaib said Sania’s family is happy about their stay in Pakistan and also thanked hotel management for bes arrangements they had made for them.

Replying to question, Shoaib said he is optimistic about his cricket come back and said his lawyer will appear in the court on his behalf during hearing of appeal filed against PCB ban.


Walima ceremony ends early
LAHORE: The walima ceremony of Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza ended early here on Tuesday after overcrowding created some mismanagement during the party.

The couple and their relatives left the hall soon after the mishap.
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani, the son of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Governor Punjab Salman Taseer attended the party.
Earlier, smiling bride and the happy groom made their way into the reception hall.
Sania was wearing sea-green sharara while Shoaib was in black suit. Guests came in large number to the reception.
The walima hall was tastefully decorated as roses and other flowers were used in abundance in decoration of the hall and the hotel management brightly illuminated the venue.
The party begins

LAHORE: The valima ceremony of Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza has begun here on Tuesday as the smiling bride and the happy groom made their way into the reception hall.

Sania is wearing sea-green sharara while Shoaib is in black suit. 

Guests in large number are already present at the reception and Sania’s relatives coming from Hyderabad Deccan are also there. 

The valima hall has been tastefully decorated as roses and other flowers have been used in abundance in decoration of the hall. The hotel management has brightly illuminated the venue.

The valima reception will continue to 10 pm during and the guests will be served with one dish.

Shoania’s valima arrangements finalized

LAHORE: All arrangements of the valima reception of Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza have been finalized here on Tuesday.

Rose flowers have been used in abundance in decoration of the valima hall while the hotel management have brightly illuminated the place.

Police and the hotel management checked the hall to ensure the fool-proof security arrangements at the five-star hotel.

The valima reception will begin at 7-00 pm and continue to 10 pm during which the guests will be served with one dish.

LHC dismisses petition against Shoaib and Sania
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) today dismissed a petition seeking the registration of a case against Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza for the alleged violation of several rules during a reception in Sialkot to celebrate their wedding.

Sheikh Hasan Sheraz had alleged in a petition filed in the LHC that a ban on serving more than one dish at a wedding function had been violated during the reception held on April 25.
He also alleged the organisers of the event violated regulations restricting the use of electricity at such functions.
LHC Chief Justice Khwaja Muhammad Sharif dismissed the petition after Sheraz was unable to produce evidence to back up his allegations.
Sheraz had also requested the court to order the couple and the administration of a five-star hotel in Lahore to conduct Shoaib's 'walima' today in accordance with the law.
Shoaib irked at media handling of their wedding

LAHORE: Former captain of Pakistan cricket team Shoaib Malik said he had to stand guard under present circumstances, as there is need to maintain a distance, Geo News reported Tuesday.

Talking to Geo News in a special interview along with his wife Sania Mirza, Malik said, ‘Media should not have created stir and sensation in connection with our marriage.’

Sania said, ‘We are having to come out at night to visit the city owing to media hype. I enjoyed a lot the nocturnal view of the city. I want to walk uptown in the daylight as well.’

Sania said she enjoyed very much the Pakistani cuisine, as according to her, she is fond of eating.

Indian top tennis star said, ‘I am very happy here, as people showered us with love.’

Malik said they would decide about their future after the wedding ceremonies come to an end.

Sania Mirza said she is also fond of shopping, adding she received rafts of gifts from people here.

One more petition against Shoania in LHC

LAHORE: One more petition has been filed against cricketer Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza in Lahore High Court, Geo News reported Monday.

While one petition accused Malik of violating various government rules, another is in connection with the alleged sale of invitation cards to the reception.

Hasan Sheraz, who filed a petition in the Lahore High Court, alleged that Shoaib violated the government's ban on serving more than one dish at marriage functions, which was a rule that was introduced as part of the austerity drive.

He also said that Malik needs to be punished for letting his reception function go beyond 10 pm, which was in violation of a government's order which enforces a 10 pm-curfew on such functions.

Both the petitions will come up for hearing on Tuesday, Apr 26, which is the same day Shoaib Malik will be holding yet another reception at Lahore.

Shoaib summoned to appear before court on May 3 

LAHORE: Session court Lahore accepted the case against cricketer Shoaib Malik for hearing here on Monday and summoned him to appear before the court on May 3.

The petitioner adopted the instance that Shoaib sold the invitation cards of his valima reception due to this attitude his fans were deeply hurt.

Local citizen Safdar Ali filed the case adopting the instance in his petition that Shoaib Malik are selling his valima cards for Rs15,000 each. He has disappointed his fans by making his valim a business.

The CCPO Lahore and SHO Race Course Station have been made parties in the petition.

Approving the case, the session court has sent the petition for hearing to additional session judge Malik Rafiq who issued notices to Shoaib Malik, CCPO Lahore Pervez Rathore and the SHO Race Course station.
